Trailer Watch: Ang Lee wants another Oscar
Life of Pi has had a rocky road to production. Considered a difficult project to put on screen, it was briefly considered by M. Night Shyamylan. Thankfully, though, Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee has picked it up for his next film, and it looks to be the rare creature that will actually benefit from 3D.
Director Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) creates a groundbreaking movie event about a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While marooned on a lifeboat, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with the ship’s only other survivor — a fearsome Bengal tiger.
Based on the acclaimed novel by Yann Martel, the film hits theaters on November 21, 2012.
