Lincoln’s Best Thing Ever: Neil deGrasse Tyson kills SDCC12

At the end of San Diego Comic Con, one of the final panels is the Starship Smackdown. A group sits down at the front of one of the auditoriums and debates the merits of various starships. You can only imagine how geeky this normally is.

This year, it managed to be even geekier.

The panel was made up of “Thor and X-Men: First Class cowriter Ashley Edward Miller, Free Enterprise producer Robert Meyer Burnett, Legend of the Seeker producer Kay Reindl, Geek Monthly editor Jeff Bond, Star Wars: Clone Wars writer Steve Melching and artist Chris Gossett.” However, at the end of the debate, they couldn’t decide a winner, and thus turned to the audience for help. They weren’t expecting Neil deGrasse Tyson, relaxing and watching this last panel before leaving, to step up and, in his typical manner, kill it.
