Trailer Watch: Wreck-It Ralph, Flight and Django Unchained

My apologies for the lack of updates this week, but just in time for the weekend, here’s a trio of trailers.

Denzel Washington pretty much kills any role he’s in. And he does especially well in roles that put him up against seemingly insurmountable odds. And here’s another, with the first look at Flight.

In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane?

Also starring Don Cheadle, this Zemeckis directed film hits theaters on November 2, 2012.

As a video game fan, it’s rare that a film based on a popular franchise is, let’s be honest, any better than crap. But leave it to Disney to put a new spin on the video-game film, with a genre hopping hero who gets tired of being a villain in Wreck-It Ralph.

Sick of being the bad guy, Ralph goes on a genre hopping adventure through the arcade he’s been stuck in for 30 years. But when he accidentally unleashes evil, it’s up to him to become a hero and save the world(s).

Directed by Rich Moore (Futurama, The Simpsons) and starring John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman, Wreck-it Ralph hits the big screen November 2, 2012.

Finally, Tarantino is back with Django Unchained, combining grindhouse, western and blaxploitation into one unabashedly entertaining looking mix.

Directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Zoe Bell, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington, Django Unchained rides into cinemas on Christmas day.
