The Dark Knight Returns has a voice cast

Warner Brothers is adapting Frank Miller’s popular The Dark Knight Returns as an animated film (technically the second time, since the episode of The New Batman Adventures, “Legends of the Dark Knight”, had a TDKR sequence) and they’ve set their voice cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Weller of Robocop will be our grizzled, aged hero, while Ariel Winter (Modern Family) will play Robin. The cast is also to include David Selby, Michael McKean and Wade Williams, who will be playing Two-Face.

DC plans to release the film as a two-parter, with the first hitting this fall and the second in early 2013. The comic source material is widely considered one of the best superhero graphic novels ever written, prompting a sequel that….wasn’t as great.
