Quick Cuts: Directors
- Disney has decided that it’s safe to continue betting on Brad Bird. The director, who broke away from animation for the recent Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is returning to the Mouse House to do a script by Lost producer Damon Lindelof, 1952. Details are sparse on what the number refers to, but apparently Disney is planning on it being a multiple platform thing. Lindelof is writing the script with Jeff Jensen (presumably the EW writer who reported about Lost) (Source: Deadline)
- Francis Lawrence will officially be directing The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. Lionsgate announced it today and the director, who has previously done I Am Legend, Water for Elephants and Constantine, will begin filming in the fall. The current projected release date is November 22, 2013. (Source: The Playlist)
