Brilliant Attack the Block actor, John Boyega, picking up more roles

If you saw last year’s Attack the Block, odds are that you were impressed by young lead Moses, played by John Boyega. With that excellent recommending role under his belt, it’s not surprising to see him taking on more major work. This has included roles on the BBC in My Murder, HBO for Spike Lee’s Da Brick and British drama Junkhearts. But he’s not slowing down.

Variety reports that Boyega is set to star in several upcoming films, including science fiction film Creeping Zero as well as the adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel, Half a Yellow Sun. Sun tells the story of the Republic of Biafra’s struggle for independence in Nigeria and the turmoil and violence that were a direct result.

The film goes into production next month and Creeping Zero gets started in the fall.
