Trailer Watch: Sequels-You-Do-and-Don’t-Care-About Edition

That title might be a little harsh to this first trailer, but frankly, while fun to watch in the ‘Wow-that-is-really-cool-the-way-that-monster-looks’ way, Clash of the Titans was a bit of a stinker. But no worries, we’re getting a sequel anyway, and one whose first trailer tops the ‘TITANS…..WILL…..CLASH!’ tagline of the original with the most non-sequitur musical cue in a long time.

While it seems to be taking a very God of War approach to scale, storyline and everything else, this could be fun in the sense that things exploding and giant monsters usually are….but seriously, how much God of  War did they play? That trailer has sliding puzzles, giant bosses and ridiculous set pieces. This is getting a bit silly.

Wrath of the Titans is directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle Los Angeles) and opens March 30, 2012.

OK, now to the good stuff.

This came on in front of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. I immediately wanted to watch it again. I had to wait until today. Enjoy.

The only thing (that I’ve heard they’re working on) is that Tom Hardy/Bane’s dialogue is really difficult to understand through that mask. Other than that, all I can say is that Nolan appears to have done it again.

The Dark Knight Rises July 20, 2012.
