Quick Cuts: John McClane is back, Drive lawsuit, and more
- Bruce Willis will be returning to the role that made him famous on Thursday, February 14, 2013. That is the day Fox will be releasing A Good Day to Die Hard, the next installment in the series which finds protagonist John McClane having really awful days. And with a title like that, which is already getting mocked, the film will hopefully be a blast. (Source: The Hollywood Reporter)
- A woman in my home state of Michigan is suing distributor FilmDistrict over their trailer for Drive being “misleading”. Apparently, Sarah Deming felt that the film was “promoted … as very similar to the Fast and Furious, or similar, series of movies.” While the trailer in question did have some action in it, you can judge for yourself whether it looks at all similar to the Fast and Furious films. - Fox will be working with Ben Stiller and the writers of the Night at the Museum films on upcoming comedy Rentaghost. Based on a British television show about a company that rents out ghosts for various jobs, the film will star the very busy Stiller as a consultant who goes to Britain to turnaround a failing corporation (presumably the title company). Stiller also has a Zoolander sequel in the works and has Tower Heist coming out in November. (Source: Deadline)
