The Wolverine may be pushed back

Over at Deadline, they’re reporting another delay in the second chapter in the story of Logan. The Wolverine previously had Darren Aronofsky attached to direct, but after he dropped out, the way was opened for James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Knight and Day). Things finally appeared to be on track.

Now it looks like production may be pushed back until 2012, with Fox saying that they never had given the project an official start date anyway. There are a couple of dueling reasons. With production taking place for the most part in Japan, it’s difficult to find places that aren’t affected adversely by the weather. There is also a camp saying that the production is just waiting until star Hugh Jackman is done filming Les Miserables.

Whatever the reason, it looks like we’ll be waiting a while to see if Jackman still has what it takes. If his scene stealing in X-Men: First Class is any indication, it will at least be fun to watch him.
