Happy Yuri Day!

In case Google’s doodle wasn’t hint enough, today was the 50th anniversary of Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s trip into space, the first human being to do so. Not only that, but when he left on the Vostok 3KA-3, he also became the first human being to orbit the planet.  In regard to his flight, Gagarin said:

The feeling of weightlessness was somewhat unfamiliar compared with Earth conditions. Here, you feel as if you were hanging in a horizontal position in straps. You feel as if you are suspended.

So in honor of this, I give you this beautiful tear-jerking song honoring another, furrier cosmonaut. Here is Jonathan Coulton’s Space Doggity.

Hope you had a wonderful day.
