Lincoln’s Video of the Day: The Assassination of Yogi Bear by the coward Boo Boo
Yogi Bear opens on Friday and well….it doesn’t look very good. This short, however, a parody of the film as well as The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, is pretty fantastic. Watch it now, as it’s unlikely it will be online for very long before lawyers start crying copyright all over the place.
The video was created by an animator who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, Edmund Earle. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, he said that the darker ending was inspired because he happened to be watching The Assassination of Jesse James… at the time and felt that Yogi Bear was “ripe for parody”. He worked on the short from September, working from just “the posters, watching the trailer, and that was it.”
Brilliant.
