Marvel adds Black Widow to growing roster of films

There’s such a thing as striking when the iron is hot, and there’s such a thing as beating a dead Fin Fang Foom. This might be the latter.

According to ScreenCrave, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced today, during an Iron Man 2 DVD press conference, that they were in talks with Scarlett Johansson for a spin-off movie featuring her character, Black Widow. While “The Avengers comes first”, the studio has already started “putting together concepts” regarding what a film about the character could address.

Johansson is already joining the cast for Avengers in 2012, and you can refresh yourself on her performance when Iron Man 2 hits DVD next week. Personally, I’m not sure this is the best idea, as she didn’t come across in a particularly engaging way.
