Trailer Watch: Sucker Punch and our first full look at The Goon

My own computer troubles continue, but Zack Snyder might want to back away from his for a moment as we have finally gotten a look at his anime-reference-and-CGI-drenched Sucker Punch.

Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

I’m just not sure, as the action will likely be a lot of fun, but it would have been nice for him to contrast the obvious CG/other-worldliness of the imagination with real locations for the in-asylum/real-world sequences.

Also, in a full two and a half minute short, we get a chance to see some more of what we can expect from the Goon, including a very Sam and Max-esque driving sequence with baseball bats, guns and lots and lots of zombies.

This continues to look amazing and I hope that it can find a director, studio and funding very soon.
