Lincoln’s Link of the Day: Tree of Life

I’m a science nerd, and this has to be one of the coolest, most beautiful things I’ve seen in a while.

Beautiful right? And it’s not just a pretty drawing. It’s actually a radial tree-of-life diagram from the David Hillis lab, and all that fuzziness around the outer edge of the circle is approximately 3000 different living species. You can download a scalable pdf and zoom in to find all of your favorite animals and fungi.

(With thanks to PZ Myers for the link)
