Gary Oldman says Batman 3 "shooting next year"… maybe possibly
This gripping news was broken by… everybody at SDCC with internet access — but because they actually bothered to use a direct quote, here’s what AICN says Gary Oldman told the crowd at a panel on The Book of Eli, when asked when the next Batman movie would come out: “I think the next Batman is next year.… We start shooting next year. You didn’t hear that from me.”
But later, in an interview with AICN’s Quint, he backed off from that, saying, “Well, I’m sure they want to do another one.… It might [be] 2 or 3 years.…”
So… where does that leave us? Pretty much where we were yesterday: Chris Nolan has not signed on to do another Batman movie. He’s still busy shooting Inception and he’s known for liking some time off between flicks, so don’t count on him signing anything until that’s wrapped, at least. Warner Brothers would not be stupid enough to sign another director unless Nolan decides to pass on it first (which is to say: they’re not Fox). And there is not even a script yet, anyway.
Got it? Good. Deep breaths, fanboys. Get excited when it’s actually real news.

Gary Oldman was also the one that mentioned that someone out in the world was making a Dark Knight video game. And look how that turned out.
Moral of this story: take what Gary Oldman says about the Batman franchise with a grain of salt.
