Trailer Watch: The Boat That Rocked international trailers

So Richard Curtis’s past work — Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Love Actually — might not instill a lot of confidence in the dudes out there, but check out this cast: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Nick Frost, Kenneth Branagh, Mad Men‘s January Jones, and Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace).

The Boat That Rocked is a (fictionalized) tale set in 1966 about the United Kingdom pirate radio movement, which took advantage of a legal loophole to broadcast rock music to upwards of 25 million listeners. A second trailer from Universal Pictures actually does a slightly better job providing the historical context (not that you really need much background to get it), but they’re both terrific fun. The Boat That Rocked opens in the UK on April 3rd, but won’t make its way to the States until… whenever Universal decides to set a release date. Come on, get on that shit.
