Dan Fogler signs onto HBO's Sam Kinison biopic

Variety is reporting the HBO is moving ahead with Brother Sam, a Sam Kinison biopic based on his brother’s book, with Dan Fogler signed as the Wild Thing. The above video is apparently Fogler’s leaked screen test. The delivery’s good, but Fogler’s a little too fresh-faced for the hard-livin’ comedian right now, I think. That’s probably something they can fix with make-up and lighting, though.

The TV movie was written by Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (American Splendor) and will be directed by Tom Shadyac, hoping to repair his career after making the world’s first $200 million comedy, Evan Almighty, which is also one of the biggest bombs in recent history.

This actually looks kind of good, almost makes me forget about Good Luck Chuck. Almost.
