Michael Crichton passes away


Andromeda Strain and Jurassic Park author (and ER creator) Michael Crichton passed away yesterday at age 66, after a “private battle against cancer.”

    I heard about this at work. I was in shock for, like, thirty seconds.

    Wow. Opus, Obama’s grandmother, and now Michael Crichton. It really does happen in threes.

    Very sad. I loved most of his writing, particularly Sphere, which is in my top 10 books of all time.
    (The movie was good, even though it was a massive departure.)

    This is very unfortunate news.

    This man was all kinds of genius. “Eaters of the Dead” made me actually enjoy Beowulf.
