Joaquin Phoenix retires from acting

He’s going to concentrate on his music career. He’s been working on an album with Tim Burgess (frontman of the Charlatans UK) for some time.

“This” (Phoenix’s last performance) refers to James Gray’s Two Lovers. And the “it seems like it’s Casey’s time” comment might make a little more sense if you know that Casey Affleck is married to Summer Phoenix.

In other news, no one gives a damn about Jaoquin Pheonix. Personally, I’m kinda glad he’s exiting while he can. Most of his good stuff was as a kid, and while Walk the Line was good, one movie does not a legendary career make. He’ll be back when his album bombs K-Fed style.

Is he drunk? I bet he’ll regret saying that, even if it is partially true.
And it is more Casey’s time than his, but I’m sorry to see him go, even though I’m not a big fan or nothing.

I’m a huge Joaquin fan, and thought We Own the Night was great. He comes from a family with immense musical talent; River and Rain were in this band called Aleka’s Attic or something like that before his untimely demise.

The Cash handpicked JP to portray him and that’s not something I take lightly. But I like The Charlatans and am interested in seeing what’s going on with this project.

I bet his twice co-star Mark Wahlburg will be getting some of the roles that he would have gotten (not like Marky Mark has had trouble getting roles lately).
