Amy Adams set to star in Leap Year

The Hollywood Reporter says that Amy Adams has signed on to star in Leap Year, a romantic comedy from screenwriters Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan, who wrote the mean-spirited and unfunny Made of Honor.

Adams will play “an uptight woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb. 29, following an Irish tradition in which women propose to men on that day and the man has to say yes. When weather derails her trip, she enlists the help of a surly Irish innkeeper to make an unexpected cross-country trek to pull off the perfect proposal in time.”

Apparently it is “in the tone of It Happened One Night, which leads me to suspect that the surly innkeeper and Adams bicker a lot and then hook it up. The film is aiming to start production in February, but it needs to hire a director first.

I love Amy Adams. I only wrote about this news so I could post a picture of her.

Me too. Ever since “Junebug”. Now even when she’s wasted on a bit part anybody could play (“Charlie Wilson’s War”, “Talladega Nights”, I notice her and think, “Why isn’t she the star of this movie?”
