McBride and Green Get High Again

Variety reports that Danny McBride, who co-stars with Seth Rogen and James Franco in the upcoming David Gordon Green-directed Pineapple Express, has signed to re-team with Green in Your Highness, for Universal Pictures’ Scott Stuber (The Kingdom, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World). Highness marks the former classmates’ third collaboration after McBride made his screen debut in Green’s gorgeous, poetic All the Real Girls.

McBride wrote the script with Ben Best (who co-wrote the East Bound and Down TV pilot with Jody Hill), which centers on an “arrogant, lazy prince who must complete a quest to save his father’s kingdom.”

This continues Green’s surprising (but thoroughly welcome) new career trajectory as a comedy director, and solidify’s McBride’s own path to comedy stardom. McBride has his 2006 film, The Foot Fist Way (co-written with Hill and Best and directed by Hill), finally seeing (limited) release this weekend thanks to Will Ferrell and Adam McKay; co-stars in the upcoming Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder; and is current filming Land of the Lost opposite Will Ferrell.

Holy shit, that’s a lot of links.
