Trailer Watch: 20th Century Boys teaser
A Japanese teaser trailer for the upcoming adaptation of Naoki Urasawa’s 20th Century Boys is up at YouTube (and higher-res over at the official site). There’s not much to it, but the one, brief real visual we get is pretty neat.
The film — the first of a planned trilogy — revolves around a store manager (Toshiaki Karasawa) who predicted the end of the world as a teenager and learns that he may have been right. The film comes out in Japan on August 30th; no US release is set at this time.

Great news! 20th century boy is one of my favorite manga. The story is great! I just hope they stick to the manga… ohh and in the manga they were kids when he(/they) predicted the future and not teenagers, (i dunno about the movie tho)

I was rephrasing from the earlier Variety article’s synopsis (in the related post), but that article got the TITLE wrong, slightly; it might have gotten the age of the protagonist wrong, too. It was probably poorly translated from a Japanese press release or something.
