Trailer Watch: Love Songs and Redbelt revisited, Planet B-Boy

I first mentioned the French musical Love Songs (Les Chansons d’amour) prior to Movie Make-out‘s official launch, so I wanted to mention it again now that its trailer has been added by Apple. Their synopsis, which will get you as up to speed on the film as I am, describes the film as being about two lovers (Louis Garrel of The Dreamers and Swimming Pool‘s mouth-watering Ludivine Sagnier) whose relationship has grown stale and enter into "a playful yet emotionally laced threesome with Alice [Clotilde Hesme]. When tragedy strikes, these young Parisians are forced to deal with the fragility of life and love. For Ismael, this means negotiating through the advances of Julie’s sister [Chiara Mastroianni] and a young college student [Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet]…" The film hits limited release stateside on March 21st. I’ve managed to track down the film’s soundrack, and it is some fantastic French pop goodness… and this is coming from someone who usually hates musicals, but because the music is usually obnoxious faux-Broadway pap.

Apple has also added a high definition version of David Mamet’s Redbelt, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, which I previously mentioned here.

Finally, Apple has also added the trailer for the breakdancing documentary, Planet B-Boy. When dancers or artists wax philosophical about how their art has changed their lives, it all starts to sound the same to me, but this still looks pretty fun, and the camerawork in the dance sequences looks kinetic enough to do the subject matter some justice.
